| Question: I’ve started to register, but can’t find my school in the system. What do I do? | | Answer: Fill out the provided school information form and submit it to the national office for review. Once the school has been verified and added to the system, you will receive an email prompting you to register. This process will take up to 2 business days. |

| Question: I am still working on my submission. Should I wait to register until I have finished? | | Answer: You should register as soon as possible, including the information about your work. If the title changes, or if you change the materials used for an artwork or the word length for a manuscript, you can always log back into the system and update the information. |

| Question: I’ve registered, but I can’t remember my email or password. What do I do? | | Answer: Click on the forgot email or password link on the registration login screen, and you will be prompted to provide information that will retrieve your email address and/or password.

| Question: My school has a firewall that keeps me from accessing your Web site. How do I get around it? | | Answer: Please consult with your school’s technology department or computer lab staff.

| Question: What does my teacher have to do in order for me to participate in The Awards? | | Answer: Teachers are required to sign your submission forms. You must obtain a teacher’s signature for every work you submit to The Awards.

| Question: I am a teacher. What I need to do for my students to participate in The Awards? | | Answer: Teachers may register online to gain access to student registration management tools. These tools will help you support your students throughout the registration process. However, teachers are not required to register in online system.

| Question: My child under the age of 13. Can he/she still participate in The Awards. | | Answer: Yes. However, because of the Children’s Online Protection Act, students 12 years old and younger must register for The Awards using a paper form. To obtain a paper form, a student should begin the online registration process. He/she will prompted to enter a date of birth and a school. The student will then be blocked from proceeding with online registration and provided a paper form. The student may still access Regional Guidelines and Deadlines by clicking clicking the link on the sidebar.

| Question: I am a parent and I’m not comfortable with my child having an email account. What should I do? | | Answer: An email account is required for all students participating in The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. We suggest that parents create and manage an email account, on behalf of their children, specifically for participating in online registration.
