Scholastic Art & Writing Award winners have gone on to have lucrative careers in the arts and literary fields, as well as in creative industries such as advertising, medicine and design. For many, winning a Scholastic Award gave them the confidence and the resolve to commit to creative lives.

Regional Affiliates

More than 100 organizations partner with the Alliance to present The Scholastic Awards in communities across the country. Affiliates, consisting of community-based organizations, colleges/universities, school districts, museums and teacher organizations, share a deep commitment to our mission.

Staff / Board

Among many activities, the dedicated staff, board and volunteers of the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers conduct outreach, coordinate with Regional Affiliates, organize national judging, solicit and disburse scholarships, and present the annual National Awards Ceremony and student art exhibit.

Jurors

Established artists, writers, curators, critics, educators, and creative professionals participate in jury panels for The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Jurors select art and writing that best exemplifies our core criteria: originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision.
